Ice Cream and an Art Show

Yesterday was 41 degrees and windy.  Cold enough for some ice cream!

Don't the colors of the ice-cream sprinkles look like the colors on Olivia's painting below?

Things are looking better now...

This is what I woke up to this morning: (and yes, that is snow outside--SO over it!!)

This is only some of the laundry....

None of us were home all weekend.  Annoyed all morning because I hate having all this stuff, plus grocery shopping --the bane of my existence (why?  why must humans eat????  it is such a waste of my time!!!) and returning things to the library, and buying stamps at the post-office.  Who even uses stamps anymore?  Apparently we do.
Also went into a mini-rage and accidentally sent a ranting email to the wrong person!!!  UGH!!!!  (it's OK, she's cool---hi Angel!!!!)
But things are looking up.  Groceries got put away, laundry load #3 is almost done.  Dishes are mostly done (whatever didn't fit into the dishwasher is still dirty--so what?) and even the upstairs bathroom got a scrub.  Plus I ran into someone very nice at the post-office, so things are looking up.
Not always sunshine and rainbows here.

Coke Crate for Stayci

A few months ago I had a photo up of my Coke crate.  Stayci (cousin-in-law :) liked it.  A lot.  So I told her if I spotted another one, I'd pick it up for her.

Well, I think I scored yesterday because this one is cooler than mine.

Yes, that is a sling-shot on the Coke crate, and no, it's not coming with the crate Stayci  (you're safe Rich).

This one is mine:

Dear Winter,

Dear Winter, you have less than 13 days left.  Get on with whatever it is you are still doing, and move on.

In the meantime, I will make chicken soup today,

and sit here while I wait for the kids to come home.

If I'm not careful you might think you're in IKEA

I went to IKEA this morning.  By myself.  Felt kinda bad because the kids LOVE it there.  Plus they always eat the swedish meatballs, but have you heard what they found in the IKEA meatballs in "Europe"?

Yeah.  Skipping that for a while.

Science Fair

Last we the kids had their school science fairs.  Olivia's was Tuesday and Joseph's was Wednesday.  This was Olivia's first year participating.  She was so excited!!

Her project included a taste test of different waters.  Our town's tap water came in first place in a taste test.  The town's DPW manager happened to be there that night and he was proud our water did so well.  Here he is, clearly impressed by the result:

Explaining  her project to the "judges."

This is Joseph's project.

He was so proud of it!

Here he is explaining his project to the Assistant Principal using clay models.

Everyone got medals.
