Saturday night from up in her room Olivia asked me what all those lights were that she could see in our woods in the backyard. I told her they were fireflies & I realized my kids have never had the pleasure of catching fireflies. So we went outside and caught some.
It was a family affair. Joseph is pretty good at it. The next night we did it again, but with Ball jars this time.
We've caught fireflies at least three times this week alone. I have no idea how long the firefly season lasts --they are actually looking it up today--yes, I am making them do a firefly report---but we will catch them for as long as we can.
